Location and Attractions
Runners will be inspired by the legendary feats of endurance of Guto Nyth Bran in whose memory the annual Nos Galan races are held. Fresh water fishing is available locally on Nant Moel and Meardy reservoirs, and golf at nearby Aberdare and mountain ash Golf Clubs. The Celtic Manor Golf Resort is forty minutes away by car (much closer by helicopter) which is hosting the 2009 Ryder Cup. If you want to improve your climbing or pot-holing skills before taking on the challenges of the Brecon Beacons, Europe's biggest indoor climbing wall and indoor pot-hole are just down the road at the Welsh International Climbing Centre at Trelewis. Railway enthusiasts must visit the narrow guage Brecon Mountain Railway.
The Localty and Environment
The farm has direct access to a huge area of designated open countryside with a network of footpaths, bridleways & mountain bike trails. Horse riding is a very popular activity in the area and the property has stables which are available for visitors livery. There is a barn which is used for cycles and other outdoor pursuits equipment. We have seen hang gliders and parasailers taking off from the hilltop above the farm!
To enjoy these activities you need not set foot, wheel or hoof on the public highway to gain access to this 'great outdoors'.
